Well, we ā€˜mightā€™ throw food if Jesus starts it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think Jesus has a great sense of humour. He made all of us didnā€™t he? And he gave us a sense of humour. We are made in his likeness or image.

I truly believe he is the one that gave me the idea for this thread to begin with. He wanted us to have some fun while we wait. He knows how depressed and down in the dumps some people have been and he wanted to relieve our stress.
I personally thank him for this thread.

Good grief Folks, lighten upā€¦this isnā€™t a life or death hill to die on. Itā€™s a light hearted RELEASE for us to share some laughs with fellow believers. God Himself Laughed!

We are Holy because Jesus made us Holy. There is nothing we can do to become Holier.

If one canā€™t handle people laughing and having fun, one should avoid this thread altogether.

Actually, I do recall JD laughing and cracking a joke here and there in the BPUā€™sā€¦

More concerning would be if we let this transition from lighthearted into a real fight and lose sight of unity.

Agreed with her sentiment. I think I had a similar look on my face as well. The last time I looked, God was the God of all even the God of laughter and merriment. I mean when things go good but we donā€™t share that with God is that not a form of selfishness? Who among us are to say God does not enjoy and good funny joke now and then. Why do we always try to put Him in a stuffy old school marm box with a sour looking face all of the time.

Romans 14:13-23 especially.

Therefore let us stop judging one another.

Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brotherā€™s way.

I am convinced and fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself.

But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.

If your brother is distressed by what you eat, you are no longer acting in love.

Do not by your eating destroy your brother, for whom Christ died.

Do not allow what you consider good, then, to be spoken of as evil.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

For whoever serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

So then, let us pursue what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to let his eating be a stumbling block.

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything to cause your brother to stumble.

Keep your belief about such matters between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

But the one who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that is not from faith is sin.

So Paul was speaking about eating food, and how the Gentiles were not eating Kosher foods like the Jews. This really goes beyond just eating food , but for just about everything that one might consider a sin.

In this case a thread about a virtual food fight.

Paulā€™s words above certainly apply.

If this thread is sin to you, why do you come back to it? (general question to anyone here)ā€¦

IDK, it is an addiction? I havenā€™t got the brains that God gave to a flea? Maybe I am just hungry all of the time.

Worse yet I tend to do those things I am told not to do so I am going to push my stumbling block bolder right into the thread.

I only know that this forum is filled with compassionate brethren who, in real time, share of their bounty and strive not to be wasteful. This topic is meant to be a stress reliever in a heavy world of burdensome realities, and I am sure that no one here is promoting wastefulness and overindulgence. ESPECIALLY at this stage of our times.

Not everyone enjoys silliness, and thatā€™s life. Iā€™ve said it before, here, but many who participate have far heavier burdens in their real lives than most of us know about. This spot gives them a hearty and momentary cheer in a pervasively serious world. They already know thatā€”the seriousness. They step away from this topic and weep over their own situations.

This spot is virtual and the memes are recycled. I hope that we can give each other some grace. Having said that there is a way to block the topic from your notifications. Sometimes, that is the best approach.

Temptation to laugh? Smile maybe? I donā€™t know, I ask the same question. One thing is for sure, if anyone is offended by a fictional food fight then their going to have a problem if they get to heaven and Jesus is cracking jokes.
