This blessed my heart! One of my favorite verses is Hebrews 6:18-19.
Today I’m singing “In the Eye of the Storm” by Ryan Stevenson, and I’ve picked up again a book by John Eldredge, “All Things New,” which is based on that verse and the HOPE that we are promised in what lies just ahead!
Wonderful message delivered right on cue, praise God and thank Pastor JD!
Not sure who may be helped by this. It was a poem penned by me this morning. Actually, it was more like I was holding the pen and the words just came. Tommy was a miscarriage I had between my first and second born. God blessed me with five altogether.
I posted it on on a Sidewalk Advocates for Life FB page and had requests to share so o I thought I would post here as well. I pray it helps someone who needs encouragement and hope.
Tommy
I have a son in heaven whose face I have never seen.
But I know he travels streets of gold while there he waits for me.
Will he be young, will he be grown when finally our faces meet?
I am not sure but this I know, we’ll praise at our Master’s feet.
This gives me hope and makes me smile, this handsome son of mine.
For God was good to let me be part of His plan divine.
Perhaps he’s building a mansion now or paving streets with gold.
Knowing I will see him gives me joy in growing old.
I look forward to the day when all my children know
their brother who God beckoned home so many years ago.
What a reunion it shall be when all of us have trod
the path laid out, the highway leading straight into our God.
No more crying, no more tears, no separation pains, altogether praising Christ whose death became our gain.
Love, Mom

Beautiful! Thank you for allowing us all a glimpse into both your pain and your hopeful anticipation. My daughter-in-law miscarried a much longed for baby girl inFebruary. We look forward to meeting her one day. . . Soon and very soon!
This was a wonderful and encouraging bible study…filled with Hope, the Anchor of the Soul.
I loved how Pastor JD talked about the way that “The joy of the Lord is your strength”
We have this joy when we know we are saved, and have assurance of our salvation.
It isn’t the joy of this world, or anything in the world,
It isn’t tossed to and fro by every wind or storm, affliction, or setback,
Its the joy that nothing in this world can ever fully extinguish out…
or for long
because it didn’t come from this world or anything in it,
It came from knowing we belong to Jesus.
makes sense that the devil takes aim at that foundation of assurance and joy every chance he gets.
Without the armor of Ephesians 6 and His pavilion and wings of protection, none of us could make it.
But God! Soon the battle will be over, and all things of earth will remain here, while the ecclesia is called up to home.
I’m so sorry for your loss Linda. As one who walked that road too, my heart goes out to you. What a beautiful poem you wrote here, thank you for sharing it. Soon you will see your baby again and all grown up, what a glorious moment awaits in the Blessed Hope.
Thank you for your kind words. So grateful for our hope of heaven.
