Love and Enlighten One Another
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 (KJV) For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
These verses exemplify what a sincere serving heart will aim to work in their lives as they sojourn on earth. God does not expect His spiritual family to conform to the corrupt ways of this world. Nor, found alive on earth during the tribulation times to come.
God did not send us here to feed the anger at work from lost souls. He does not expect division and strife to be present among regenerate souls. As these verses explain, God desires every soul to come unto salvation. A spiritually regenerated state allows a soul to align with God now and for eternity. This eternal affiliation does not draw from the corrupt well in this world. Instead, the presence and power of God change every soul that chooses to identify with Him rather than serving the evil nature at work in this world.
A soul who gladly serves God is willing to agree with Him about the nature of sin and death. This kind of eternal mindset and state of heart draws spiritually softened souls to have a strong love and enlightenment towards others. Rather than take on the vast divisiveness and hate at work in the here and now, it pushes God’s people to care deeply, serve, and edify others. It is all about God and wanting the best for others rather than serving sin and selfish motives apart from Him.
