Alas the wild garlic season is all but spent (tho we still have enough folliage for one more pasta meal) but today Lis and I discovered God’s new mana provision:
God presents - Chicken of the Woods (Laetiporus sulphureus / Sulphur polypore) - a highly prized and edible mushroom that is relatively rare to find (in good form) yet grows in Spring through Autumn.
As the common name suggests the taste is somewhat reminiscent of lamb beef pork fish donkey …chicken.
So, do you sing the Periodic table to fall asleep?? My girls loved the Animaniacs. Drove me crazy for a few years until they grew out of it…or did they? They still sing that song.
Can’t say I ever memorized the Periodic tables song. I DID memorize Particle Man because of that show though (and forgot it in my old age). And learned it’s Istanbul not Constantinople. lol
It looks familiar, as far as the style of cartoon goes, but I honestly can’t relate to watching. Looks VERY vintage, which means you and I should recognize it…yet we really don’t.
Wow, I am seeing a nice spaghetti sauce with those in it or a nice miso soup with them. They look kind of like shiitake or miitakes which I dearly love.
Not an age thing. You are not THAT old, but it was popular in the 80’s and 90’s in America along with Pinky and the Brain. A little sarcasm along with history and pure silliness.
I don’t recall Pinky and the Brain either. Perhaps we didn’t get it in Canada or it was on channels we didn’t get back then. In some things Canada seems way behind the States or my province seems behind some of the other provinces. We are fairly small population wise in Canada compared to some others.
Well maybe you can catch up on YouTube or internet. You will either love it or hate it. It’s too silly and hyper for me, but the girls would never miss a show. Yes, they watched TV, but both girls were Valedictorians in high school with a 4.2 GPA and one is a Psychologist, one is a Robotics specialist with Amazon.
Well yours is doing from what he studied. Mine took a different track kind of. He is a researcher for a foreign investment firm that deals with high tech startups. Now the upside is that he is broad based and can identify potential new technology very well and what he is not up to speed on can research that and learn it in short order. But his good claim to fame is that he is also a good people reader. Often times some new technology has potential but the people trying to develop it do not.
Still it is kind of neat to have a son that can where the entire mathematical formula for clearing earth’s gravitational field and be able to explain it perfectly. Yeah he has a shirt like that. Best part of all is if you meet him you would think ahhh just a normal everyday person but what is locked up in that mind is phenominal.
But look who I am telling this too. You have two, I have only the one. My other is bright and doing well but she was never into high tech all that much. She actually works for a company that sets up art exhibits at museums. Not a lot of high tech in that at all. Nope her eye is more for artistic details but she is very good with it.
