Spring....just cant wait

Yes! Yes! Yes!
My preschool class and ESPECIALLY me are ready for them to be able to get outside to be able to run around and play on the playground.
It’s been below zero for many days here in Idaho and the daycare playground still has about 3 feet of packed snow.

So this is one of my favorite sounds of spring. It’s a nightbird; Chuck-Wills-Widow. From early May thru about mid June in the black of night, this….

You’ll never actually see one. It’s a rare nightbird. Oh how I miss hearing it. I miss Tennessee deeply. Although we heard one last spring here in central Oklahoma. Just a few times. It was a God wink, to coin a popular phrase. True

Yes, but Spring-ing from my couch or bed to that Trumpet Call in the sky!

Oh, that sounds so wonderful and sweet. I love to hear the mocking jays call to each other. We have a lot of them, crows, wild parrots and seagulls. The baby seagulls are adorable.

Our crows here are the size of a large duck. Way too big. Kinda intimidating

Yes, here too. They do make lovely pets, though and can talk up a storm if you teach them.

I love this, Stacey. I followed this site for a while and loved how they cared for these precious, pesky little critters.

With spring approaching…. A great reference book for planting/maintaining trees and shrubs. My first copy is over 20 years old. It’s gold to me. Then Michael Dirr (same author) put out this new one with photo illustrations. Both are excellent.

Loved this show. She was such a troublemaker.

What show is it? Our daughter sent me the meme. Is it that Hyacinth lady?

Yes. That was her name on Keeping up Appearances. He was so timid and quiet. She got away with a lot of “stuff”.

I Love that show! Mrs. “Bouquet” was such a riot! She was always causing all sorts of problems and her poor husband always having to suffer through it all,

I loved that everyone mispronounced her name as Bucket. She got so angry at that…lol

Tony, you know my husband! He’s already got his little plot drawn out on graph paper! We had to have a huge Blue Spruce cut down (even here in NJ, they really don’t thrive) so this left a perfect size “garden space”. Bless his heart - he has such expectations for his garden, every year!

Guess what. I am a landscape design specialist by trade. Your husband and I have some common ground

I do spend an entire day at a time in garden centers and nurseries even for our own place. Unless God has other plans for me, I’ll plant trees here after the tribulation :evergreen_tree::wink:

Not sorry. It is another beautiful day here in SOCAL. Just wanted to cheer everyone up and say spring will be here soon. I can smell the ocean air from here.
