In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:52
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Revelation 3:10β-β¬11

We have a friend in Jesus. We all should be talking with our Lord and Savior. When you stand before the Lord, will he say - βYes, I know you faithful servantβ.
What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needles pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful?
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer
I love that song. My dad used to take me and my brother to a church camp every May during our early teen years. It was a big deal for me, cause it got me out of school for the week. However, he had his own hymnal that the camp published for the worshippers. Well, when my parents passed away 3 years ago, I got that hymnal. Itβs got all the old hymns that I heard growing up. I donβt have any musical talent, but Iβll periodically open it up and read the lyrics, then the notes come start coming back to me. When you focus on what the old lyrics are saying, it really encourages the soul.
Wonderfully clear exposition of those verses - will definitely share with a friend going through a prolonged βfiery trialβ & keep it in mind myself, too.
Thanks a lot, Stacey @staceylovesJesus for placing this link π thank you Jesus - #49 by staceyLovesJesus here.
Itβs a great encouragement to praise the Lord for what we have been given already as believers and what we have to hope for.
