We Shall Die
Isaiah 22:13 (KJV) And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.
Though a person may articulate this point in different words today, like the saying, you have probably heard from an unknown source, “we only live once.” This statement is a popular mantra at work in minds today. Pushing lost souls to live it up in the here and now.
Unfortunately, many believe life is hopeless and that death will come knocking on their doorstep at some point in the future. However, most do not realize that they are never guaranteed their next moment in this life on earth, let alone tomorrow, is never promised. Beyond this, many fail to think about what comes after their physical death because they are too busy living it up in this world.
While it is true that a physical end will come to all, a person’s soul can live forever. That is true only if a person knows God. Rather than sink into the miry thinking of death as an end to all things, a sincere child of God places his view upon living with God forever. Doing so changes his helplessness to hopefulness with God.
A sincere child of God knows that physical death is not an end of all things; instead, it ushers in eternal life, Perpetually living in sweet peace with God and enjoying eternal fellowship with Him forever.
