Personal message from Pastor JD about being with his family during the month of May

Aloha Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On Sunday, April 28th, 2024, I made the announcement that I’ll be out of the pulpit for the month of May. This because, we will celebrate my wife’s birthday, who, as many of you know, continues to battle breast cancer. BUT GOD, as only He can, is shrinking the large tumor and stopping the aggressive spread, for which we give Him all the glory, and are most grateful to all who have been praying and continue to pray.

We also commemorate our daughter Noelle’s memorial when she went home to be with Jesus on May 4th, which is 2-days before Kellie’s birthday and 8-days before Mother’s Day, which is May 12th this year. Then, 6-days after, we celebrate our second-born son’s graduation from college, and shortly after our daughter’s graduation from High School 1-year early as a Junior. Then we will also celebrate my first-born son’s birthday.

Then, in addition to all of this, I will also be officiating the Celebration of Life for a dear friend and brother in Christ, David Anderson, on Sunday, May 26th, which happens to be Memorial Day weekend. These are just a few of the many things that I just want to be with my family for, all of which are during the month of May.

Please know that you’ll be left in the very capable and loving hands of both Pastor Leitu and Pastor Mac as they fill in for me in my absence. Lord willing, and, “IF WE’RE STILL HERE”, I will return to the pulpit beginning with our prayer meeting on Tuesday, June 4th, which I’m really looking forward to, and as such will be so ready to come back.

This for a number of reasons not the least of which is that I love you all very much, will miss you all very much, and that I’m so profoundly privileged to be your pastor both locally and internationally, for which I thank you all so very much.

Until,
jd

May the Good Lord bless your time away with rejuvenation and regeneration and restoration of strength. You are going to need it when you come back. Just remember that when you start taking a lot of flak and it seems lately your are that just tells you that you are over the target of the enemy. Bless you and your family.

We will miss you dear pastor but know that we will be praying for you and your family as you mourn, celebrate, rest (ha ha), celebrate some more and hopefully get some alone time with Kelly. You have been so faithful to God’s word and teaching it with boldness and we will surely miss your sense of humor too but look forward to Pastor Mac and Pastor Leitu who fill your shoes so well. We all will be here when you return and are eager to hear what God has for us in your teaching. Love you and praying for your safe journeys and return. Ron and Carole R.

Dear Pastor (and great friend to many) J.D.,
Thank you :pray: for your unwavering service and heart felt stewardship of this flock! You’re truly a Giant in heaven brother! I imagine you’ll be surrounded by a sea of stars crowning the 1,000’s you’ve saved! Our God has done mighty things through you! I’m praying for you, your family, & our church family as we enter these final minutes awaiting our Savior! It brought me to tears when you humbly spoke of Kellie’s recovery! I’m so grateful to you for all that you do. You make me laugh cry & accept that we’re all just as imperfect as one another! You’re a brilliant blinding light of Christ in this ever darkening world. We are all so blessed to call you our Pastor. Ty for all you have & will do! Keep running the race for we all see the finish line approaching. Your guidance has transformed my life! We’re all praying you have a wonderful and blessed month with your family.
Always looking up
-Rebecca :blush::heart::pray::two_hearts:

Thanks to those that posted JD’s note.

And if you’re reading here on the forum…Thank you, JD, for listening to God’s voice in obedience to step away. I know it’s hard to leave your post. But your family needs you in a timespace without constraint so that God can freely bless you all in a very personal way in the merry month of May. It’s in many ways the most beautiful time of the year and He doesn’t want you to miss a thing!

God’s got this :wink:

Could someone get this to Pastor Farag for his reading for his wife’s health? There is information in the link concerning a protocol for breast cancer. Thank you so much. Aloha.
