Rather poignant sermon for today, this past week too. Especially for this forum. I used to think as what was presented about ‘it’s not fair, God!’ and after a lot of time has passed, I’ve got the point. And blaming others for our downfalls - I’ve learned that it’s hard at times but even our choices in how to handle people, discussions, opinions, and all that implies IS ourselves to blame. No one held a gun to our head to attack one another, and no one held us hostage till we challenged one another with a topic. Pride gets in the way a lot of times where there’s more me than He in what we present and thus a disconnect and miscommunication transpires.

Took me awhile though some say I’m still not adept at it (perhaps I’m not to their level) to not have to explain myself at times or interject. It also goes as far up to having issue with brethren. Pride can make us fight and blaming others instead of ourselves can make us fight and totally overlook the boiled down point of miscommunication or the insistent need to be right as we can never be wrong. Obviously I got a lot out of this teaching and can see more of [a] correlation to the Israelites than I originally thought of.

Very well said @Jon

When my teeth are on edge, probably better to keep my mouth closed…

Proverbs 13:3, 18:21
James 3: 9-12

…or pay a visit to an odontologist.

Well with you, it’s probably good to let it out lol. You have a lot of wisdom, discernment, and understanding. Whereas, I do not. Also, thank you for the compliment, brother.

Sorry, but I just have to ask.

Have you memorized the whole Bible, or do you have a photographic memory?
You always seem to know the exact scripture and where to find them so quickly.
And you also seem to know exactly where things are found in a video. Just curious.

I am too old to do this now but as a teen when that certain time of the month came along, I blamed Eve. I even had told friends, that as soon as I get to heaven I’m searching out Eve and giving her one swift kick. Over the years I realized had it not been for Eve, it would have been Susan.
Now that I am older than old with Rheumatoid Arthritis and failing eyesight, I seem to be rehashing those same feelings of wanting to pass the blame to poor Eve.
When will I ever learn?

The answer works for this as well as when the rapture will happen

A couple of things really blessed me, minor in comparison to the main message.
No generational curses i have had people tell me i am cursed because an ancestor was a witch, another alcoholic one a rebel. If my daughter made the same folk they’d tell her she’s doomed because her mum swills tea and eats chocolate. Thank God jd smashed that stupid teaching. As i sip more tea …
And the fact that a good king /parent is not to blame for the actions of their child . The child has freewill. So many of us are tormented because our kids wont listen. As jd pointed out the emeny is the accuser. He will get us ate up withbfalse guilt if we let him
A great study . Very grateful for jd and the holy spirit for speaking to us through him and Hods word

works for me!

Oh yes Margaret, I especially was interested in JDbringing the light of truth to generational curses and also that each person stands accountable to God and no attachments from ancestors. My family had generations of wealth greed, hatred and even murder! Yes two of my great great uncles had a duel and one died. It was all because of land inheritance…I mean GREED.
I am glad I don’t have that awful sin that was so prevalent in my family of origin. I am glad to only have enough money to meet my needs too

I’d rather have Jesus

Ok had to ask Mike if I could share his family’s generational addictions that Mike does not have. Mike’s family was wealthy and had a sprawling estate outside of New Orleans. The great great grandfather was a gambler and all his sons gambled big time. Mike’s dad was a little boy when the estate was lost to gambling which later burned down. Mike’s dad went to the horse races evey time the door was open. Mike’s brother has a big gambling addiction and goes to casinos. Anyway, praise God Mike was never addicted because it ran rampant in his family.
I wanted to disclose or rather expose this just because both of our families swept these horrible things under a rug in order to keep the family secrets, secret. A lot of deception to cover up secrets too. Disgusting

Oh Susan praise God he protected you both from greed and gambling is awful its destroyed so many lives!
Imagine if mike had to amswer for Ron shudder. Is he any closer to repentance you had some good news about the book last tine?
I was so delighted jd dealt with that generation . I have enough sin in my own life to bring to the cross without fretting about other peoples. Now illness physical or mental can be hereditary i understand how that teaching came about . So glad we are treated as individuals by God that you wont pay for your ancestors duelling or me for my families violent past. Bad enough trying to deal with my own heart issues. It seems more cone to light daily

God bless

Praises an thank Yous to our Faithful, Loving FAIR and JUST God!!!

Margaret, all we know is that the Lord is working on his (Ron’s) heart. He still doesn’t talk to us but we know he is softening somewhat. He has been very hardened.
I believe it was yesterday the Lord reminded me of Nora and I stopped and prayed.
I also pray for you dear one May you heal and be free from carrying other ‘s burdens. In Jesus’ mighty and precious name, Amen.

Thank you so much dear Susan for praying for Norah, i really appreciate that.
I think, as with Ron and mikes sister , it will take time , we know when we pray for somebody to come to faith we are praying in accordance with God’s will and he hears us. But they have freewill so prayers for salvation can be on our prayer lists for decades so wonderful that you see signs of his heart softening.

Thank you for sharing your life history and overcoming the lies our family lays on us. My ancestors were part of the KKK and there was a lot of items such as statues that were past down. I was offered some of it and I said “NO THANK YOU”. I was shamed because I didnt want these " family treasures. I said very firmly that in my home we serve the Lord and Him only. These items are full of hate and demonic and will never be in my home. Never heard another word about it, praise God!!

Praise God, you are such a loving kind lady you prove the generational curse thing is nonsense. Problem is people who know our family do expect us to be like them and its only Christ who sets us free to be us, the unique individual he called us to be.
My first full time paid job was with the same large organisation my father had worked for. A few peple remembered him and wd make jokes about his drinking and brawling. To my horror i was told the head of the Belfast branch had sent for me. This man had power to dismiss anyone, as i had just started i had no idea when anyone as high above me as a monarch over a peasant wanted to see me. Then i read his name he was a man my dad had often boasted about assaulting. I felt sick. But this man was a Christian. When i came into his office trembling, he made me welcome polite talk then said. "I knew your father. But i also knew your mother. She was a lady. " i almost fainted with relief. He let me know he wasnt going to hold my fathers sins against me! Just as jd taught you will not pay for your ancestors sins but your own

Ezekiel 18:20

The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

Praise God, Margaret. My dad suffered emotionally from his fathers abuse and sin and even on his deathbed he was in anguish and couldn’t forget. I know he loved and honored his father in life, but the shame and hurt from his "Christian " father was a lifetime of pain. He is free of it now and I rejoice for him.
