Our Father has put it on my heart to share the gospel by way of teaching a class. I am asking for prayer; especially for students’ hearts and minds to be prepared and for guidance for me in teaching.
AND I’M ASKING IF ANYONE CAN RECOMMEND (or warn to keep away) AN ECONOMICAL PROJECTOR SUITED FOR A CLASSROOM SETTING (as opposed to home viewing in darker rooms). I’d prefer to have remote control and bluetooth.
Classes will be held on Monday afternoons at our local library. Class is for women and girls old enough to be interested. First class is October 1st. Please pray for me and my students. And if you have any advice on projectors (under 200 bucks, well under…lol) I’d appreciate your imput.
Praying for the great thing you are doing @GR. my husband and I delivered a similar series of studies at our small church using power point slides on a laptop connected via HDMI cable to a bigger screen. Can’t offer any recommends re projector but hope this might help, depending on numbers….hope it’s a huge audience! x
Oh thank you Emma @trustandfaith. It is a daunting task and I certainly need and appreciate your prayers and encouragement. God bless you and your husband for teaching!
I’ve been studying Revelation for several years now. Thought it was just for pleasure; seems like I mighta been in training. Learning from 10-15 Calvary teachers and a few that are not Calvary. I have experience teaching public school and confirmation classes. Still, a big ol’ bunch of butterflies tumble around in my tummy when I realize I’m doing this.
My brain yells, “Are you crazy? You haven’t the education or skill!” And I answer, He has called me to this and I will trust Him… as the butterflies tumble!
Prayers are much needed and even more appreciated if that’s possible! I’m really excited … and really nervous. Thank God I was made with a fearless spirit!
Hubbydude and I continue to lift you and yours in prayer. Hang in there, Little Sister!
As God has called you to deliver this Georgia Ruth, I’m certain you’d nail it with a flip chart and felt tip pen! Our study series of 3 sessions (not enough!) looked at Bible prophesy, fulfilled and unfulfilled end times eschatology. In case any element of our resources/slides are helpful to you, I can email if you PM me your address?
Don’t listen to your brain, or sootfoot whispering his lies in your ear. When you’re following your Shepherd you have everything you need and he will care for you as lovingly and gently as you do your monarch babies. Praying for you right now @GR.
Praying that you and your hungry students will be filled and blessed. Continue to listen to the voice of truth and take it one Monday at a time. I am genuinely excited for you. I know that I would definitely attend if it wasn’t a 16 hour (approx) drive. Thank you for all of the prayers and encouragement you’ve had for me.
Tony
Thank you Ken! The day is fast approaching— and yesterday I lost access to my files trying to find a way to access a YT video!
I want to begin each session with the gospel. I thought it would be cool to play snippets of different people/YTvideos with the gospel. YT is full of people using snippets of other people in their videos. And there are tons of channels that only publish other peoples’ YT videos. So, no problem. Right? I even asked for permission (and received his blessing) from the first person I intended to feature. welcome
Lost access on the 27th. Set a restore point for the 26th. PC restored to the 27th! Grrrr…. hoping I can restore again. Sorry for the ramble; just on my mind.
Your encouragement and prayers are much needed and much appreciated. God bless you, Ken!
Dear Georgia Ruth, Blessings!
Consider explaining the Gospel in your own simple words for your first class without UTube.
God did make the Gospel very simple to understand, and your students will appreciate the simplicity. I know that you will be good at this.
Too often I have seen the Gospel over explained to the point that it becomes confusing, especially to new believers.
You can explain a little more each class as you paint a picture of what the Christian life looks like because of our Good News. The Good News that provides our escape for what is about to come on this unsuspecting world.
I pray that by word of mouth your class grows each week (If we are still here) as people understand that God is Love, and that He has provided a way to eternal happiness for us all. We just need to believe, and accept it.
Losing notes, no problem, I see old sootfoot is at it again. (This is a good sign by the way) We can just pray for your memory to increase.
Just don’t overdo it and you will be fine. I have seen you engage is some pretty serious in depth talks at a very advanced level on our Forum.
So relax and get excited at the same time.
The Holy Spirit has got this.
So go have some end time fun.
Agape,
Ken
I’m praying for you in this scary endeavor, too, Sister @GR, but I’m confused.
October 1st is tomorrow, which is Tuesday. Is it just the first class that’s on Tuesday and the rest every Monday?
I so hope and pray you found your files and a good projector and also pray you have a whole bunch of students ready to join in and praise the Lord with you in learning as much as you all can about Revelation.
Remember, it’s the teacher that can learn just as much or more in the process of their teaching others.
God bless you and each and every one of your family, friends and students, dear Sister!
Keep looking up…it’s almost time to meet our blessed Lord in the air!
First, hope you weathered the storm. Seems like I remember you’re in Florida.
About the date and day of my class… oops and you’re right. I was thinking 1 Oct was a Monday. First class is tomorrow; future classes will also be on Tuesday afternoons. Sorry for the “misinformation.”
I did a dry run at the library today and I’ll go in early tomorrow. Hope I speak better when I’m with people, lol.
My primary goal is to get people to Jesus and Jesus to people. I believe this is the whole reason our Lord has called me to this project. Tomorrow is an overview of the veracity of the Bible, how to use it, encouraging people to study and be Bereans, the ABCs of salvation (with Scripture), being born again via the Nicodemus account, starting a prayer culture, and a review of available online study resources, and a couple teaser slides from the next session.
I don’t expect to make it through the whole book of Revelation— I do have the next two sessions mapped out and PowerPoints begun for each. I’m pretty sure at least one person will be there tomorrow since I’ve been called, other than that who knows — there might only be one class…. Maranatha!
But you ARE correct, one learns more when they teach! I’m looking forward to that part. Already have a couple things to look up and get solid on before mañana.
BTW, Hubbydude had an excellent projector that he used to use when he taught safety classes. I just totally forgot about it. God already had my needs met before I knew to pray about ‘em! He’s sooooo good to us!
Joe, you and yours remain in our prayers. I thank you and ask our Father to bless you for including me and my concerns in yours! Hope to see you soon, Brother— taking stairs two at a time! Won’t be long!
